A portrait of Brazilian People based on the anthropological work of Darcy Ribeiro. This series consists ten 26 minute-long shows about the social and cultural formation of Brazilians, their mixed ancestry, and the uniq...展开ue cultural syncretism that has resulted from it. Darcy Ribeiro dedicated his life to thinking about and changing Brazil. With rare discernment, he discussed people's origins, the course of history, major concerns and problems, and diferent points of view and dilemmas. In his last book "The Brazilian People", he highlights the need for a general review of our socio-cultural roots, examining them in a broad and intimate manner. After all, who are the Brazilians? How did the symbolic and genetic blending process take place? How were the various cultural regions and multiple "Brazils" formed? We want to present these questions to the general public, which is the core of social and historical constitution. The film also includes interviews with Chico Buarque, Gilberto Gil, Antonio Candido and Tom Ze.
