But thus is life, and dreams of happiness remain unfulfilled ... A civil war. The conquering Soviet government must defend itself against the numerous enemies: the Germans, the Belarusian volunteer army under Bulaq Balakhovich, the Poles. Rada of the Belarusian People's Republic of takes away from the peasants the land and sells to Europe timber. Demand from farmers ??? swear the last scion of the Gediminas - Prince Sapieha. But in the villages and towns were only old men, women and children. And Sapieha meets only the priests of different creeds. In one of the towns the Red Scout kills Colonel Balahovtsa.
