Larry Kent's first Montreal feature pursues a free-from narrative style as he examines the failure of the cultural revolution of the 1960s. During the "Summer of Love", Kent presents his audience with two characters who eschew such a utopian ideal. Invited to premiere at the Montreal Film Festival, the film was banned before it opened. Subsequent screenings across the country followed a similar pattern of censorship that ultimately resulted in the film's mutilation. In 2001, a complete version of the film came to light and brought about a national retrospective and reconsideration of Kent's contribution to Canadian cinema.
